If you are currently farming or ranching, please state the size, type(s), and location of the operation. My partner, Cassady Daley (24 years old), and I (25 years old) own the business side of Raven Ridge Farm in Kalispell, MT (we lease the land and home). In our 3rd year at the farm we have a small member CSA, sell wholesale, and attend the Kalispell Farmers Market. Before Raven Ridge I apprenticed for 2 years at Two Bear Farm in Whitefish, MT. Prior to that I studied geography at the University of Texas at Austin and spent my spare time volunteering around local farms. Cassady graduated from Montana State and studied Sustainable Foods and was awarded the "Outstanding Graduating Senior Award" in her program.

Please elaborate on the type(s) of agricultural operation you plan on running. We are interested in a more long term stable option for us. We are about to sign a 3 year lease to use the land we are on after being unable to come to an agreement for purchasing the land from the landowner. We are interested in having a 50-100 member CSA, selling an average of $500/ week wholesale, and attending the Kalispell farmers market. We currently have invested around $12,000 in a BCS tractor and implements. We want to have a diversified vegetable farm that grows food from March-October. This requires season extension practices such as hoophouses (we have 2 currently that are 100' long), and a high tunnel or two.
Transition ArrangementsBuy/Sell, Cropshare, Lease, Open to other arrangements
If you are interested in another type of business arrangement, please explainWe ultimately would love to be land owners and farm on the land we own. However a long term lease agreement of 5-10 years would work for us. A lease to own or some sort of owner financing would make it easier for us to afford land.
