Road construction during the summer and a Dog Handler/Trainer with a professional sled dog kennel during the winter.
I am number five of six children. Our vegetable garden was our grocery store. Each of the children had approximately ten rows to tend. I always chose to tend the peas, carrots, beets, and flowers. I especially enjoyed thinning time. One for the garden, one for me was a lovely game to play. We processed all the vegetables by canning, freezing or storing in the root cellar. I also spent summers at my grandparents sheep farm helping tend the sheep, horse and chickens, bring in the hay, fish, explore and help put up the produce. My uncle raised beef, hogs, geese and chickens. I would spend time on their farm as well. I am currently formulating a business plan to include a You Pick and CSA operation which will grow to include livestock and dairy.

Please elaborate on the type(s) of agricultural operation you plan on running.Initially, the operation will be a You Pick and Crop Share vegetable farm. The business plan shows consistent growth projections through the addition of an orchard, fruit vines, poultry, livestock and dairy to include on site processing and distribution.
Elaborate on the farming practices you plan on using.The farming practices I plan on using include natural and organic. I would prefer not to spray but use companion planting and predatory insects, the poultry and proper crop rotation to prevent disease and pest infestation as much as possible. However, I am not so naive to as to believe infestations and disease do not happen. When that occurs, I intend to utilize the products available while obtaining/maintaining Certified Organic status.
