Briefly describe your current occupation(s) and responsibilities and list previous agricultural employment and experiences. If you are currently farming or ranching, please state the size, type(s), and location of the operation.Through high school, I worked on a farm in KS. Corn was the main cash crop, The farm had a small feeder operation also. I worked in all aspects of the operation. In my 25 years in Montana, I have always helped neighbors with moving their cows, haying, branding, shipping, etc. 8 years ago, my oldest daughter married into a ranch family. They have a 450 head cow/calf operation. I have helped in all aspects of their ranch operation. I am currently employed in law enforcement and the Montana Army National Guard. I am looking at retiring from both in about 3 years. During my tour in Afghanistan, I reported nightly on the status of our 150 personnel, i.e. sick, injured, or available for duty. I also reported on the status of 100's of thousands of dollars in equipment, i.e. whether it was available for service, out of service-repairable or not.

Please elaborate on the type(s) of agricultural operation you plan on running.I desire to lease sufficient property to maintain a 150-200 pair cow/calf operation in the eastern half of Montana. Hay ground desirable so regular purchase of large amounts of hay is not necessary. I realize eastern MT is in a drought right now, and large hay purchases are likely to be needed this year.
