Chemist with the City of Missoula, as well as contract laboratory scientist. Own 20 sheep, 18 chickens, 3 breeding turkeys. Selling 10 meat lambs per year. Apprentice at a larger 100 head sheep farm. Animals currently on 1.5 acres, would like to find a larger place to be able to expand and operate more efficiently using sustainable practices. Would like to get into hay production.

Would like to expand wool production and meat sales with heritage sheep breeds to support diversity in available wool types for hand-spinners and fiber artists and provide superior tasting meat raised ethically. Currently breeding dual purpose meat and wool sheep that offer diversity in markets, good carcass size, and valuable wool. Would like to operate with 300 head for a profitable sweet spot. Also want to breed heritage turkeys for meat.
