Briefly describe your current occupation(s) and responsibilities and list previous agricultural employment and experiences. If you are currently farming or ranching, please state the size, type(s), and location of the operation.I run a small fencing and welding business. We focus mostly on Ag fencing and pipe corrals. I grew up in the ranching industry, my family has owned the ranch in Glendive since 1910. My Ag experience has ranged from cow-calf in Montana to Thoroughbred breeding in New Mexico to yearlings in Wyoming. I run a small bunch of pairs in partnership with my mom on grass we lease from the family ranch in Glendive. We also have some feeder heifers in the Gallatin valley , along with some broodmares that produce ranch and rope horse prospects. I start and finish all the colts we raise as well as train outside rope horses.

Please elaborate on the type(s) of agricultural operation you plan on running. We are very flexible in the type of ranching operation we can run. The type of ground we find and the land owners goals will dictate our management practices. Summer grass for yearlings or a year round place for cows and calves. The small acreages that we have been running horses and stockers on around Bozeman has really furthered my education in pasture management. It’s been very gratifying to me, witnessing the improvement in the soil and grasses on the leased pastures we are operating on. I have seen dramatic increases in both quantity and diversity of grasses and in earthworms counts.
