I spent time working on neighboring ranches before leaving for college and to then run a horse training business. I returned home to Montana in 2008 to ranch with my family and to work on neighboring ranches. Due to financial reasons I left in 2012 to pursue other work. I currently work as a boilermaker in refineries and mines performing turnarounds. I am responsible for welding, pipe fitting, mechanical work and managing laborers. I am currently in this field to save money to lease or purchase land to have a commercial cow/calf operation.

Please elaborate on the type(s) of agricultural operation you plan on running.We plan on having a low-input commercial cow/calf herd. We want to focus our efforts on raising cattle destined for the beef market with an emphasis on genetics that require minimal inputs while producing more beef.

The insight and advice of the person that has been managing that land would be invaluable.
