Type of OperationHay & Forage, Grain, Large Animal (cattle, sheep, goats)
Please elaborate on the type(s) of agricultural operation you plan on running.Ideally, we would love to farm dry-land wheat and forage hay, as well as run a decent number of cattle. Our backgrounds and experiences lie mainly within that range, but we are fast learners and hard workers and would be willing to try something new someday. We have some experience in no-till farming and would love to implement that in an area where is it possible. As far as the cattle go, black and red angus are our go-to but I would love to put my degree to use someday and work on furthering herd genetics and implementing specialty breeds for smaller "hobby herds."
Transition ArrangementsBuy/Sell, Cropshare, Lease, Partnership, RSA Grass Link
Please elaborate on the kind of additional training/information that would help you:I have a knack for marketing but would like to build on that skill someday. We would also like learn about tax management and develop our money-management skills to ensure we will be successful in the future.
