I moved from Oregon to Havre to attend MSUN, pursing an Ag degree and a Diesel Technology degree. Growing up I have always loved farming and ranching; agriculture has been a huge part of my life since the day I was born. From working on farms and being involved in FFA I have always had a goal of owning an operation of my own someday. The tough thing is that you cannot start from scratch. I am willing to do whatever it takes to reach that goal. This summer have been working for a Case IH dealership as a service Technician in Glasgow. This has enables me to go out and meet with farmers/ranchers, as well making great connections with conversation. I have worked many hours working on farms/ranches. I need the help of connecting with older farms who maybe do not have family to pass the farm off to. Family farms in America are dying off and if I could help save that then that would be my honor. I know that somewhere out there, there is an older generation farmer who would be willing to give me a chance. I am not particular in a location of where I want to start, I am open to any place in Montana.

Farming Practices

Conventional, Organic

Please elaborate on the type(s) of agricultural operation you plan on running.

I like both ways of farming and I could see myself doing either organic or conventional. I just want to see what's out there and start getting options lined up for my future. I would not mind running a haying operation and having some cows. I have always been around grain farming though and that is something that I am very interested in. It all depends on what is available, I just want to be able to have my own operation where I can provide food for our growing population. I just hope that I can make connections and meet people/communities who will give me a chance to live my dream.

If you are interested in another type of business arrangement, please explain

None

Please elaborate on the kind of additional training/information that would help you:

I am still very young, and I have yet a lot to learn. I have been around agriculture my whole life and I am always willing to learn new things. I know that there are a lot of skill area that I need to grow in order to be successful. My goal is to continue getting experience and expand my knowledge in agriculture.
